Qualify to Google Adsense?

Am starting my own website, and i need some help from anyone experienced enough with a couple of questions: - i work in web-site design and am still learning, from the websites that offer templates, i figured if i offered my own designs as templates for free, would that bring traffic, (i.e. is it a good "website" idea?) - To Qualify for Google Adsense (Am planning on putting some hard work in the website, to attract visitors, and hopefully some $$ :) ), what are the criteria, i don't want to put additional efforts if am not going to qualify in the first place.? - And finally, does anyone has an average of how much do you make of the Ads, i know its rather difficult to predict, but i was curios if anyone has an idea. 1. Yes it is a good idea to offer your websites for free. You can embed a link back to your main site thus increasing your backlinks. Qualifying with Google is having a good website with no porn nudity or adult material and you should obtain an account.
